Fiber Optics

The highways for Airports and other high-density areas

Broaden your view on WiFi Network implantation “in all directions and angles “; understanding current and future services to be provided, on client´s stand point, is one of the challenges.

A good start for your telecommunication infrastructure project for provisioning B2B and B2C services requires planning from the very beginning.

Planning a network infrastructure with a deep knowledge of the services which will be delivered to your client is wiser than simply relying on Integrators and equipment vendors who usually “dictate” you how to build up a new infrastructure !

It´s very simple! If you spend too much time and money to build up a new telecommunication infrastructure, you will later pay the price, you will be postponing the breakeven point of the investments you have already done; and in the worst scenario you will need to sell your services at higher prices than the competition!.

We are now facing a formidable shortest cycle of technology evolution worldwide; if you get stuck on old technologies you won´t be able to cope with the very fast pace of the new era of services carrying TeraBytes of information, such as Icloud, SDWan , HD movies, Surveillance , WiFi ac … ax to provide mobility services to B2B and B2C.

The decision to be taken is crucial . A wrong decision in terms of infrastructure and its associated technology will jeopardize the performance of your business, and prevent you from providing a myriad of telecommunication services and new applications.

My experience dealing with large enterprises such as Airports, Shopping Malls, Convention Centers, Stadiums, etc., allow me to reinforce the importance of a deep understanding of the technologies available today, and how they are superior in transmitting information and reducing installation costs and timing, compared with the traditional ones based on copper cables and switches .

The newest so-called optical POL infrastructure ( Passive Optical Lan ) brings all you need to face the big changes that will come soon with 5G!

And much more, Fiber-optic networks addresses both bandwidth and security concerns inherent in copper – based networks.

You will not need to worry with the new services which will continue to demand more and more bandwidth, as you find at the Airports where complex mixes of clients from diversified industries co-exist; one particular application is related to surveillance services (it´s always a nightmare to manage and keep it running well…); optical fiber infrastructure puts in your hands unlimited bandwidth and unbeatable immunity to radiated emissions!

The decision of choosing optical fiber will not change your way of handling and providing telecommunication through your current system to provide services.

You will also avoid plenty of switches and copper cables assembled with an intricate network architecture which could provoke simultaneously: latency (especially) and packet loss; be careful, as you know both together determine application performance!

At least consider to analyze optical fiber; do you want to be prepared for the near future when communication will have the unthinkable latency of only 1ms (5G) ??

Keep in mind that we are going into the era of “Everything on Mobile”. If you are about to build up new WiFi network at Airports, Shopping Malls, etc, were you normally have a higher user density, it is mandatory to make sure that you are choosing the correct infrastructure which fits well with the required traffic.
